A portrait of Philo T. Farnsworth, the man who brought the monster into the world
This was an illustration project for one of my MFA classes at the Academy of Art. The project was to illustrate a famous person from the past 100 years. I couldn’t think of a better person than Philo T. Farnsworth, someone who has been basically forgotten by history, in spite of the popularity of his invention. The one-eyed TV baby comes from my Grandfather, also from Idaho, who always referred to the television as the “One-Eyed Monster.”
If anyone is interested, I am offering large prints (up to 18″x30″) of this image, as well as other commissioned illustrations.
